DWC was founded in 1972 Selling and Servicing CB radios. In the late 1960’s/early 1970’s, General Electric had a large LEAA/AACOG contract to provide local Public Safety agencies radio systems. DWC was approached by a number of Public Safety
agencies needing maintenance on their GE systems.
General Electric then named DWC a GEMR and GESS and DWC supported larger and larger agencies including the San Antonio Police Department. DWC provided thousands of the advanced GE PE Walkie Talkies with GE-STAR ANI which for the first time allowed SAPD dispatchers the ability to identify each officer and accept emergency beacons from the officer’s radios.

DWC sold thousands of GE MPR/MPS radios as they were the first GE radios with NSA approved FS-1027 DES Encryption. In addition, DWC sold thousands of the MPR and Executive II Vehicular Repeater Systems to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Department and the California Highway Patrol.
DWC also built one of the largest GE MARCV SMR systems throughout San Antonio and Houston serving hundreds of large fleets from Coca-Cola to Budweiser.
In 1989, the City of Corpus Christi/RTA awarded GE/DWC a contract to provide one of the first GE PROJECT 16 Digitally trunked, DES Encrypted systems (EDACS) in the U.S. DWC still maintains this system to this day (28 years later)

DWC deployed and supported major EDACS PROJECT 16 networks from New York to Los Angeles, including a $100 Million deployment for the Republic of China.
DWC also first deployed most all of the latest EDACS platforms including the first DES encrypted Multi-Site switch, first MASTR III trunking system, first RS232/GPS simulcast trunking system, to the first DES IMC DVIU system.
In 1999, DWC was the largest worldwide supplier to Rockwell Collins, headquartered in Cedar Rapids, IA.
In 1999, the City of San Antonio/Bexar County awarded Ericsson/DWC a $46 Million contract for a Regional Digitally trunked radio system. DWC still maintains this system to this day... We have now been serving the San Antonio Police and Bexar County Sheriff since 1977...sum total of 40 years!
